JAMES P. WEBER Sr. 85, of Noxen passed away Friday morning in the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas.

Born in Wilkes-Barre he was the son of the late Maxwell and Ella (Root) Weber. He was educated in the Noxen schools before entering the US Air Force at age 17. He was active duty in the military being stationed in many cities in the US and also served in Alaska, Spain, Germany and Desert Storm. After 10 years of active duty, he served 11 more years in the reserve duty and retired Tech Sergeant. After serving his country he became owner and operator of his own tractor trailer and drove cross country with his wife Nancy. Both him and his wife also drove school bus for Lehman and Tunkhannock school districts. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Tunkhannock and loved his Lord and Savior with all his heart. Jim also throughout his life was a member of the American Legion in Tunkhannock; Noxen/Harveys Lake Rod & Rifle Club; EMT with medic one in Lehman; and also a Lieutenant in the fire department in Long Island New York. Jim was an avid fisherman; loved the game of golf and enjoyed going out to breakfast with family and friends.

Preceding him in death was his sister Leslie Weber.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 66 years the former Nancy Worman Weber; children James P. Weber Jr and Emily Weber, Florida; David Weber, Lake Ariel and fiancé Grace; Jodi Kashuba and her husband James, Pittston; Jon Weber, Noxen; Katherine Payne and her husband Aaron, Alabama; Randy Taylor and his wife Cori, Alabama. 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; Many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Saturday at 11am in the Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc 504 Wyoming Avenue Wyoming with Military Honors. Pastor Rick Wormer officiating.

Friends may call Saturday 10-11am in the funeral home.

Family has requested in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer Association.
