Dorothy (Stevens) Robbins, 97, of West Wyoming passed away on Saturday, September 3, at Mountain City Health and Rehabilitation Center, Hazel Township.
Born in Wilkes Barre, she was the daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Conden) Stevens. She was a 1943 graduate of West Wyoming High School. Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a member of the Wyoming United Methodist Church and Harmony Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Wyoming.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death, in 2006, by her husband of 59yrs, Gideon, sister, Ruth Stropes, and brother, William Stevens.
Surviving are two sons: Michael Robbins and his wife Mary Angela of West Wyoming, Thomas W. Robbins and his wife Jacquelyn of Solana Beach, CA, brother: Kenneth Stevens of Duryea.
She was known as “the best grandma” to her 9 grandchildren; Sandy, Lynn, Michael, Joyce, Brian, Chris, Keri, Kaylee and Brad and 4 great grandchildren; Geoffry, Dylan, Grayson and Lyla.
She will be fondly remembered as the “matriarch” of the family. She was very loved and will be terribly missed.
There will be a private memorial service at the chapel at Memorial Shrine Park with Interment following. The funeral is being handled from Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.
