DOLORES SOBOCINSKI

Dolores Sobocinski, 93, formerly of West Wyoming, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Kingston Manor Personal Care Center where she was a resident.
Born in Kingston she was the daughter of the late Joseph Deitz and Marie Deitz Yozwiak.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 1993 and son, Norman Sommers, in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Theodore Yozwiak. Dolores graduated Coughlin High School in 1945 and worked for many years in the garment industry. Later she was employed by John Hancock Life Insurance Company becoming one of their first female representatives.
In her younger days she loved singing in the St. Francis church choir in Miners Mills and being a den mother for Cub Pack 366 in West Wyoming. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows church now Saint Monica’s. Dolores enjoyed celebrating family traditions and always looked forward to holidays with her family. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and later in life taking trips to Atlantic City casinos with her daughter.
Dolores is survived by her children: Ronald Sommers and wife Rosemary, Wilkes-Barre, Marion Koniver and husband Brett, West Wyoming and daughter-in-law Jacqueline Sommers, Plains Township, and grandchildren: David Sommers and wife Sallie Anne; Karen Miller and her children Emily, Abigail and Madelyn; Amy Ferranti and husband Carmen and their children Cole, Mia and Jonah; and Ken, Eric, Seth and Sarah Sommers. Dolores is also survived by her half-siblings: Charles Deitz and wife Irene, Thomas Deitz and Helen Falzoi and husband Robert.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a future date.
Arrangements are in the care of Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.
