Zillah M. Harding

Zillah M Harding, 94 of Hanover Township, formerly of Wyoming and Liverpool, NY passed away peacefully March 20, 2021 in the Hampton House, Hanover Twp.
Born in Wyoming on August 3, 1926, Zillah was the daughter of the late David and Zillah (Jones) Anthony.
Zillah was a graduate of Wyoming Memorial High School, Wyoming and Bucknell College, Wilkes-Barre.
Zillah worked for a number of years for Shoemaker’s Card and Gift Shop, Wyoming, The Candle Shoppe, Macungie and at the Donlin Drive Elementary School in Liverpool. There Zillah worked in the office and library. Upon retirement, Zillah volunteered at the Elementary School and loved helping out in the classrooms and having the ability to work one on one with children who needed extra help. She loved children and many of them came to call her grandma.
Zillah had many enjoyments in life such as reading, writing long notes and letters to family and friends., crossword puzzles and especially knitting. She loved to share her talent with everyone, from baby booties and hats for the nursery at the hospital to tab towels and washcloths for family and friends and everything in between. She was an avid Syracuse University basketball fan and loved to watch them on TV. Zillah’s family loved to tease her about her special recipe box. She recorded on index cards the names, dates, food and sights for everyone that came to her home including family. She wanted to make each dinner or visit different and special every time. Zillah deeply loved her immediate and extended’ family. She was always there to encourage you and cheer you on. She was fortunate to be able to check off from her bucket list a trip to Wales to try and reconnect with lost cousins. She was proud of her Welsh heritage. It was a wonderful trip with bonds reunited and new dear friends made. She relished those memories and spoke of them often. In her later years, Facebook became her lifeline to connect to friends and family, even to friend’s children who kept in touch with her. She delighted in sharing with her family everyday what she read and filling in everyone on what she and her family were up to. Most of all, Zillah was a woman of strong faith. Her faith was an inspiration to those around her and especially her family. She will be sorely missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd (Sam) Harding, in 2000 and brother, David Anthony in 2019.
Surviving are her sons, William Harding and his wife Donna, Clifford; Thomas Harding, Wyoming; daughter, Joyce Thompson and her husband Leigh, Hanover Township; grandsons, Robert Thompson, Michael Thompson, Christopher Rosler and Mark Rosler; great grandchildren, Megan Rosler, Jake Rosler, Simron Mangat and Taylor Thomas and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11am in the Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc 504 Wyoming Avenue Wyoming with the Rev. Laura Emmett officiating.

Interment will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

Friends may call Tuesday 4-7Pm in the funeral home.
