Stanley G. Savitsky, 79, of Mehoopany, passed away Sunday, February 6, at his son’s home in Mountaintop.
He was born in Newark, NJ, son of the late Stanley Savitsky and Adele Kaleda Savitsky. He was a graduate of Wyoming High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. Stanley was employed by UPS for over 30 years before retiring. He belonged to many clubs and organizations including The American Legion in Swoyersville, VFW Kingston, F.O.E. Nanticoke, and various dart leagues. He was a retired member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Stanley was an avid dart shooter and outdoorsman. His greatest joy came when surrounded by friends and family at his home (the cabin) on the shores of the Susquehanna River. He kindly opened his doors to everyone to enjoy.
Stanley was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy (Piskorik) Savitsky, and his brothers Larry and Adam Savitsky.
Surviving are his children Suzanne Monseur and her husband Monroe, Larksville, Stanley Jr. and wife Patricia, Mountaintop, brother Thomas and wife Debbie, New Jersey, Sister-in-law Ann, Stroudsburg, sisters, Maryann Jordan and husband Michael, Wyoming, Theresa (Huckle) Pietras and husband Bobby, Daytona, Florida and Helen (Lana) Guilford, Wyoming. Stanley will be missed by his granddaughter Mariah Monseur, and her companion AJ Fausnaught.
The blessing service will be at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, 504 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, on Saturday February 12, at noon.
