Ruth Dennis

Ruth Dennis, 96, of Wyoming, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, in River View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Ruth was born in Wyoming, PA, to the late Joseph and Agnes (Hines) McGovern.

Ruth graduated from St. Cecilias High School and went on to continue her education at Pittston Hospital School of Nursing.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Merle J. Dennis, sisters, Helen Lambert and Geraldine McGovern, and brothers Joseph and Thomas McGovern.

Ruth is survived by nephew, Thomas McGovern of Maine and her niece, Virginia and husband, Shane Byrne of Ireland and their children, Patrick and Grace.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 28, 2025, 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church of Corpus Christi Parish, 224 Memorial St., Exeter. Relatives and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Friday.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 4-6 PM at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc. 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Interment will follow mass on Friday at St. Cecilias Cemetery, Exeter.
