Rosemary A. (Hall) Piccirilli, 90, formerly of Exeter, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains Twp., PA surrounded by her family.
Rosemary was born on April 22,1933, in Pittston, to James and Elizabeth (Hargraves) Hall. She was educated at St. John’s School, Pittston, PA and was married to Thomas A. Piccirilli of Exeter.
In her younger days, Rosemary enjoyed planting and nurturing her floral gardens and travelling to Longwood Gardens to view the seasonal exhibits. She also had a great love for music and loved to go out dancing with her husband on Saturday night. She was always singing to one of her favorites such as a song from “The Last Waltz”. Her musical taste was quite eclectic ranging from Andrea Boccelli, Frank Sinatra, and Big Band to country, Bob Dylan, and other folk style and classic rock artists. Rosemary had a very dry sense of humor and those who knew her well couldn’t help but love her, especially the staff at Riverstreet Manor where she resided during the last 6 years of her life.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas (2012), daughter-in-law Jeanne (Milazzo) Piccirilli (2020), brothers, William and John Hall; sisters, Ann Allu, Barbara Wagner, Alicia Ratcliffe, Elizabeth Gordon, Theresa Rojensky and Margaret Krulick, and her 2 four legged babies, Woody and Rufuss.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Marie Piccirilli M.B.A., M.I.S. East Haven, CT; sons, Dr. Thomas R. Piccirilli, O.D. Franklin Twp., Dr. Joseph A. Piccirilli, PhD and his wife, Dr. Alyson E. Henry P.H.D.(Piccirilli) Chicago, IL; and granddaughter, Claire Louise Piccirilli Chicago, IL, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She had a special closeness to her nephew Joseph Krulick Avoca, PA.
Rosemary will be greatly missed by her children, all of whom had their own special bond with her and take great pleasure telling ‘mom stories’ when they get together.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM on Monday, July 10, 2023, at St Anthony of Padua Church of St. Barbara Parish, 224 Memorial Street, Exeter, PA, Rev. Paul McDonnell, OSJ, celebrant.
Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
