Richard P. Zim

Richard P. Zim 83, of Franklin Twp. passed away Wednesday October 11, 2023, in Star Hill Rest Home of Monroe Twp.
Born in Swoyersville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Susan (Rusinko) Zim. He was a graduate of Swoyersville High School Class of 1959. Richard served his country in the US Army. For many years he was employed at Durland Edwards and later owned and operated Richard’s Auto Restoration. Prior to his retirement he was employed at S.C.I Dallas as an Auto Body Instructor. He was a member of the Wyoming Masonic Lodge 468 and the Luzerne United Methodist Church. While attending Swoyersville High School Richard played football and was very proud of playing under coach John Yonkondy and enjoyed hunting and trying his talents in taxidermy.
The family would like to thank the staff at Star Hill Rest Home for their care and compassion and also to Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kindness.
Preceded him in death were brothers Joseph and Ronald Zim
Surviving is his wife of 60 yrs. the former Bonnie Lord; son; Paul Zim of Franklin Twp; sister-in-law, Allyson Lord, Franklin Twp; and his puppy Piper.
Funeral service will be at the convenience of the family from the Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc 504 Wyoming Avenue Wyoming.
Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Exeter Twp
