Melvin F. Napkora, 90, of West Wyoming passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains.
He was born in West Wyoming, son of the late Frank and Anna (Wojcik) Napkora. Melvin was a 1951 graduate of West Wyoming High School. He was employed for 40 years by PG & W.
Melvin was committed to helping others, he volunteered at the West Wyoming Hose Co., # 2, and was an active member of the Alter & Rosary Society of St. Monica Parish.
In his spare time, Melvin found joy in his hobbies, including his love for antique cars, hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. His passion for these activities brought him immense happiness and fulfillment throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Hope (2016), and his brother Frank.
Melvin will be deeply missed by his family. Surviving are his children, Loran (Susan) Napkora of Dallas, Loreann Napkora of W. Wyoming, Shawn (Varvara) Napkora of W. Wyoming; grandchildren, Anna, Niko, Scott, and Aaron; nephews, Frank, Zigmund, and Raymond Napkora, Tom and Daryl Chipeleski; nieces, Susan Napkora, Trisha Marnell and Kim Platek.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Ellen Yanik and all the traveling nurses for their dedication and support of Melvin and his family during this difficult time.
A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Melvin will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, 10:00 AM, at St. Monica Parish, 363 W. 8th Street, W. Wyoming.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday 9 to 10 am, at St. Monica's Church, 363 W. 8th Street, W. Wyoming.
Interment follows at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
