Mary S. Smith

Mary S. Smith, 85, of Dallas Township, passed away Wednesday, January 26, at home. 

Mary was born in Alderson (Harveys Lake area), daughter of the late John F. Parsons and the late Alta Mae (Vosburg) Parsons. She was a graduate of Dallas High School, class of 1953, and studied Art at Wilkes College. She was a draftsman at the Bendix Corporation before leaving to raise her family. In 1979, Mary began her career as a dog groomer at Haddle’s Kennel and continued working until her retirement from Pet Care Associates, Inc. 

Mary was preceded in death by husbands: Frederick S. Mead and LLoyd J. Smith, and her son David J. Mead.

Surviving children are: Linda Stephenson-Long (Robert Long), Philadelphia, PA; James Mead, Dallas, PA; Michele Carichner, Dallas, PA; Timothy Mead (Sarah), Dallas, PA; Kevin Mead (Janine), Wilton, NH, and stepson James Smith (Rebecca), Athens, PA, 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour later in life.

The funeral service will be Friday February 4, 2022, at 5pm in the Nulton-Kopcza Funeral Home, 5749 S.R. 309, Monroe Twp.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm. in the funeral home

Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas, PA.
