Loretta Appleby, 88, of Dallas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation, Dallas. 

Loretta was born in Wilkes-Barre, to the late Stanley and Anna Gryczka Blessner.
She graduated from Coughlin High School and started her career as an Administrative Assistant for Dr John Dorris MD, she then worked for the Dean of College Misericordia, and later became the Administrative Assistant to John Brennan a local cardiologist. She loved her family, and her home was always welcoming to her family and friends. She was especially doting to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved dearly. Loretta was a devout Catholic and never missed a mass. She visited many catholic churches while she was traveling. She liked to do embroidery and crocheting, gifting many beautiful afghans to family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting flea markets with her husband. Her homemade pierogis for Christmas Eve dinner were a tradition that will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
 
In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert. and her siblings Bernard and Daniel Blessner, and Joann Biros.

Loretta is survived by her children, Lynn (Mark) Thrash of Denver, Pa; Robert (Pamela) Appleby of Exeter, Pa; grandchildren, Candace, Robert and Nicholas Appleby, Alyssa (Thrash) Hassler, and 3 great-grandchildren.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 9, 10:30 AM at St Francis Cabrini Church, 585 Mt Olivet Rd., Wyoming.

Interment will be immediately following mass at Mount Olivet Cemetery for the immediate family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
