Linda Tapia, 77, of Exeter, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Linda was born on April 1, 1946, in West Pittston, to the late Howard and Florence (Howell) Ide.
She graduated from Exeter High School and went on to work for Topps, Highland Manor, and Pride Mobility, until retiring in 2009. Linda loved spending time with her family, spoiling her grandpuppy Marley, listening to classic country and rock and roll music, watching NASCAR racing, and rooting for the Indianapolis Colts. She had an amazing talent for crochet, creating hundreds of blankets and baby gifts for family and friends. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, and coloring pictures on her tablet while watching her favorite television shows.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, John Tapia in 2006, their son, Jeffrey in 1981, brothers, Howard (Spike), Donald, and James Ide; sisters, Evelyn Saltz, Shirley Dymond, Marilyn Grey, Dorothy Ciannelli, and Barbara Lombardo.
Linda is survived by children, Brenda Lee Tapia, of Exeter, Ariane (Justin) McGrath, of Forty Fort, John (Susan) Tapia, of Pittston; grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, Kaiden, Bryson, Emerly; grandpuppy Marley; sisters, Nancy (Ed) Lasoski of W. Pittston and Sandra (Tom) Park of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Linda will be held on Tuesday, October 31, at 11:00 AM at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, October 30, from 5-8PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Wyoming Cemetery.
