Lillian Dominici, 89, of West Wyoming, PA passed away peacefully at her home on June 6, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Born on October 29, 1934, to Gilberto and Gina Dominici in Keystone, PA (and only two weeks after her mother's arrival at Ellis Island), Lillian was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt (and great-great aunt). Lillian spent the majority of her career as a dedicated surgical nurse in various hospitals throughout New Jersey. Her commitment to her patients and to the nursing profession was clear to anyone who knew her, and she cherished the friendships she made with the many doctors and nurses with whom she worked. Later, after moving back to Pennsylvania, she spent several years volunteering for Care and Concern Ministries in Pittston. Affectionately known as Zizi, being an aunt to her eleven nieces and nephews (and, later, a great aunt to their children) was one of her great joys. She was a warm, loving presence throughout their lives and created cherished memories for each. She was also an active member of her church and a vital member of St. Monica's parish, where she volunteered as a catechism teacher for many years and worked as a coordinator of the summer Bible school program. Lillian will be fondly remembered for the stories she loved to tell, the special dishes she loved to cook, her Italian traditions, her piles of books, collections of jewelry and so much more. Most of all, she will be remembered for her kindness and her devotion to her faith and family.
She is survived by her loving sister, Sandra Nardell, with whom she lived for the past few years, and her sister-in-law, Connie Dominick. She is preceded in death by her beloved brother, Gilbert Dominick, and her parents, Gina and Gilberto.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday (6/10) at 11AM at St. Monica's Church in West Wyoming, celebrated by Father Peter Tomczak.
Friends and family are invited to call from 9:30AM to service time at St Monica's Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Monica's Parish or Corpus
Christi's Social Concerns Committee.
Arrangements are entrusted to Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
