JOSEPH M. PIZANO, 80, formerly of Wyoming and West Pittston passed away
Thursday morning in United Methodist Home, Wesley Village, Jenkins Twp.
Born in Exeter he was the son of the late Phil and Mary (Fanucci)
Pizano. He was a graduate of Wyoming Memorial High School class of 1960.
Prior to his retirement he was employed in real estate and insurance
sales. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church of St. Barbara’s
Parish, Exeter.
Preceding him in death are his wife Joanne Pizano, 2006, siblings
Philip, Johnny, Mary, Louise, Josephine, Lena and Theresa.
Surviving are children; Theresa Marie Kane and her husband Eric,
Wrentham, Massachusetts; Joseph Pizano and his wife Lindsay, Kingston;
Philip Pizano, Dunmore; Ex daughter-in-law; Jennifer Pizano and mother
to granddaughters Loren and Julia Pizano; Grandson Matthew Kane; many
nieces and nephews.
Joseph was a devoted husband to Joanne, he stayed by her side for 20
years after she became ill with a disease that eventually forced her
into a nursing home and took her from this world. Not one day went by
where Joe was not with his wife. He was simply a saint and now they are
reunited in Heaven.
Joe was also a very talented Singer. He sang at many weddings, venues,
festivals and events. Joe was blessed with vocal chords that were
almost identical to Frank Sinatra. At the pinnacle of Joe’s career, he
was the opening act at the FM Kirby Center for Lou Rawls he did three
songs and received a standing ovation from a packed house. I believe
Joe best enjoyed singing tho when he would take his three children out
to Karaoke and they all would take turns trying to outdo their father
although that never happened.
Joe was an amazing father, he was always there for his children even
when dealing with their mother’s illness. I can not remember ever
asking my father for help and him not being there for us immediately.
He will be missed by so many who loved him.
A Blessing service will be held Thursday June 24 at 10 am in the
Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc 504 Wyoming Avenue Wyoming with
Pastor Michael E. Finn, of St. Barbara Parish celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Exeter.
Friends may call Wednesday 5-7pm in the funeral home.
In lieu of Flowers the family has asked for any monetary donations to
help offset the cost of the funeral expenses.
