Joseph “JoJo” Colangelo, 64, of Falls, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at his home. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was born in Scranton to the late Joseph and Mary Lou (Murray) Colangelo.
Joseph was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School, Class of 1978 and went on to become a CDL Driver for Penn DOT, where he served the state with pride. Beyond his career, Joseph was a member of the Wyoming County travel dart league through which he proudly shared a 2015-2016 Championship victory with his son, Joey and daughter, Jessica, and enjoyed playing softball over the course of five decades. He was a lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Dallas Cowboys. His adventurous spirit and warm personality touched the lives of all who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 34 years, Mary Jo (Coolbaugh) Colangelo, children Amanda (Ian) Haygood, Fort Collins, CO; Joseph (Fiancée, Rebecca) Colangelo, West Pittston; Jessica Colangelo, Falls; brother, Bill (Cindi) Colangelo, Marmora, NJ; and granddaughters Esme (McGoots) and Bryn, Fort Collins, CO. Additionally, Joseph leaves behind his treasured dog, Bandit, who over the last several years became his best friend and true companion.
In honor of Joseph's life, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 13, 2024, 11:00 am at the Church of the Holy Redeemer of Corpus Christi Parish, 2435 State Rte 92, Falls.
Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, April 13, from 9am until mass, at the Church of the Holy Redeemer of Corpus Christi Parish.
