John A, Shulde, 85, of Wyoming, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
John was born on July 27, 1938, in Wyoming, to John E. and Margaret Leach Shulde.
He graduated from Wyoming High School in 1956. He began his career in sales with Proctor and Gamble and became an HVAC technician with PLD. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Shulde.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jacqueline (Petrello) Shulde. Their 5 sons, Robert Shulde, of Wyoming, John Shulde, of Wyoming, Edward Shulde, of Florida, Martin Shulde, of Scranton, Ralph Shulde, of Wyoming; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
John was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained all through his life experiences. He will be remembered for all the love he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly.
The Blessing Service for John will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, 11:00 AM at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, October 30, 9:00-11:00AM at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming.
Memorial donations can be made in John’s name to the Boy Scouts of America-Northeastern Pennsylvania Council, 72 Montage Mountain Rd., Moosic, PA 18507.
