JOAN A. BARANOSKY, 84, of West Wyoming, passed away surrounded by loving family on Thursday, Feb 11, 2021 in the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, NY.
Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Julius D. Rukstalis and Anna Rukstalis. She was a graduate of Kingston High School and, prior to her retirement, was employed with the Social Security Administration. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Luzerne, The Lithuanian Catholic Alliance and the Altar and Rosary Society of the former St Mary’s Annunciation Church in Kinsgton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Michael Baranosky (2001), brothers John (“Rex”) and Richard Rukstalis, as well as her sister Dorothy Heness.
She is survived by her children, Michael and his companion Debby, Plymouth; John P., West Wyoming, and daughter Anna M. Lovell (Robert) of Snyder, NY, and grandchildren Zachary, Kayla, Kyle and Amelia.
She is also survived by her former daughter-in-law Cheryl (Shavertown), and sisters Lois Yatsko (West Wyoming) and Gerri Bodycomb (Hackettstown, NJ), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11:30am from the Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc. 504 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12noon in the Holy Family Parish 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, PA 18709.
Interment will be at the St Mary’s Annunciation Cemetery, Pringle, PA
Friends may call Saturday 10:30-11:30 in the funeral home.
