James Mead 60, of Dallas Twp., passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Jim was born in Kingston, to the late Frederick Sterling Mead and the late Mary S. Smith. He graduated from Tunkhannock High School in 1981 and went on to work as an IT Professional in the Philadelphia area. James will be remembered for his playful prankster personality, and mechanical ability with all things automotive, but he especially loved planning bonfires for celebrations with his beloved family. James was always ready to lend a hand or give advice when asked. He enjoyed long chats with family and friends, and was always ready for adventure.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his brother David Mead.
James is survived by his siblings, Linda Stephenson-Long (Robert Long), of Philadelphia, PA; Michele Carichner, of Dallas, PA; Timothy Mead (Sarah), of Dallas, PA; Kevin Mead (Janine) of Wilton, NH; and stepbrother James Smith (Rebecca) of Athens, PA. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and family and friends that love him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 2-6PM at the American Legion, 2974 Memorial Hwy., Dallas.
