Alice Steiner passed away at home on Friday December 16, 2022.

She was born on June 23, 1927, the daughter of the late Earle G. and Mildred (Foote) Ayers. She was married to the late Joseph A. Steiner who died in 1995. She was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School class of 1945 and Wilkes-Barre Business College.

She worked most of her life as an accountant, even preparing taxes for family and friends into her nineties. People were often impressed by her proficiency and technology using computers smart phones and tablets through the years, right until the end.

Alice lived a life of simple pleasures through faith in the lord Jesus Christ. She was a voracious reader, loved doing crosswords, watching Penn State Football and Rail Riders Baseball.

She was well known for her kind gentle spirit and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by sister Betty Carichner and brothers Raymond Ayers and Robert Ayers.

Alice is survived by son John Steiner and his wife Christine, daughter Judy Phillips and her husband Raymond and brother Earle ‘Doc” Ayers; grandchildren Justin Phillips, Brandon Steiner, Rebekah Bloom, John Belcher, Clarissa Nevling and Misty Anderson, several nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Fellowship, 155 Bridge Street, Tunkhannock, January 14, 2023, 2:00 pm, Pastor Mike Conroy Officiating.
