Alexander J. Parente 88, of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Exeter.

He was born in Exeter, to the late John and Mary SanAngelo Parente, and graduated from
Exeter High School, as the class president in 1953. Al went on to earn a BS in business administration, majoring in accounting from Penn State University, where his devotion to Penn State football began. He enlisted in the United States Army, where he served at the Pentagon before starting his civilian career. He was employed by the Bendix Corporation, as an accountant before relocating to Pennsylvania and began working as a plant manager for Harte & Co., Inc. Later in life he owned and operated Air Brake & Equipment Co., Inc, before retiring.

In his leisure time he enjoyed cooking huge family meals, gardening, manicuring his perfect yard, golfing, occasional casino getaways, and spending time with his family. He cherished every moment with them, especially his grandchildren. His commitment to his family was unwavering. His love and affection will stay in all of our hearts forever. One of our fondest memories is riding around in the car, whether it was around Harveys Lake or on a vacation, he loved singing songs to keep us amused, and taking us on special adventures. He lived a very fulfilling life, with his infectious smile and quick wit.

Alexander married Josephine Ferraro in 1959, and together they created a lasting legacy of love.
In addition to his parents, Alexander is preceded in death by his sister Joan Baldino, and brother John Parente.

Alexander is survived by his beloved wife Josephine, daughters, Lisa Parente (Teresa Campbell) of Swoyersville, Michele Kuhar (Thomas Bell) of Forty Fort; son, Alan Parente (Amy) of Arlington, VA; grandchildren, Alisa Kuhar, Alexander, and Zachary Parente. And lots of friends and relatives who loved him.

Alexander’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Highland Manor for their kind, compassionate, and loving care, which was extended to the whole family.

Goodbyes are not forever-nor are they the end. They simply mean we’ll miss you, until we meet again. Forever in our hearts.

The Blessing Service for Alexander will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, Fr. Paul McDonnell, celebrant.
